What Matthijs de Ligt has told Man Utd about summer move revealed - EXCLUSIVE

DUTCH sensation Matthijs de Ligt has rejected a move to Manchester United worth a staggering £60m.

Manchester United have been desperate to land the rising Holland and Ajax superstar this summer ahead of rivals Barcelona and Liverpool.
Old Trafford bosses were willing to hand the defender a five-year-deal worth £250,000-a-week, making him the highest paid teenager in world football.
But Starsport can reveal the defender has snubbed United's interest in him and told them he doesn't want to join them.

De Ligt even turned them down before United had failed to secure a top four finish and Champions League qualification.

The news is a huge blow to United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is keen to strengthen his back four following what has been a difficult season.
United face a huge rebuilding job this summer and need to lure some world class talent to Old Trafford if Solskjaer's men are to challenge for the big trophies again.
De Ligt was one of United's main targets, but the fallen giants will now have to look elsewhere following the embarrassing rejection.
A source close to De Ligt said: "Matthijs is going to become the best defender in the world.

"He will have the choice to join whoever he wants, but he has no interest in going to United. They are not the attractive proposition they once were.
"He knows he is in a strong bargaining position because his stock has risen so fast. He's one of the most in demand stars on the planet."
It is understood De Ligt favours a move to either Barca or Real Madrid when he decides to leave Ajax.
Barca have distanced themselves from signing De Ligt, but refused to deny their interest in him.

De Jong

De Ligt could line up against the Spanish giants in the Champions League final if he helps Ajax get past Tottenham in the second leg of their semi-final in Amsterdam tomorrow night.
The Dutch giants hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, while Barca beat Liverpool 3-0 in the Nou Camp and are red hot favourites to book a place in the final in Madrid on June 1.
De Ligt has won 15 international caps and became the youngest player to ever captain Ajax in a Champions League game earlier this season.
He is expected to line up against England in the semi-final of the UEFA Nations League in Portugal in June.
